“I’m always trying to understand the humanity behind the data. My approach is to be very emphatic with the user to discover the motivations, needs and mindsets underneath any behavior.'

Oslo, Norway —  Marcela brings her empathy, digital knowledge and positive attitude to the SalesScreen team.

What is your work education/work background?

Marcela: I studied psychology to understand people’s behavior. During my last year of school in 2011, I opened my first social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter–I became amazed with people’s online behavior and specifically how people interact and bond with brands online. After a few years of working in agencies as a Community and Social Media Manager, I decided to continue my studies with a specialization in consumer behavior.

What are some of your hobbies?

Marcela: If you want to see me very happy, take me to dance or to do some outdoor activity. Also, I like to travel and meet new places and people, and recently I’ve started to love winter sports (skiing and ice skating).

Why did you choose to work for SalesScreen?

Marcela: It’s like a perfect match! They wanted someone with my experience and background, and I wanted a workplace to put in practice of all my knowledge, to learn, grow and have a great time. Now we are dating, I hope we fall in love ;)

What are your expectations of working here?

Marcela: I want to understand the ideal SalesScreen customer and what their motivations and needs are. I want to reach companies online that want to unleash talent, build the journey to get quality leads and understand how they can become the most loyal customers. Additionally, I want to learn about sales to improve my professional competence in that area–and to understand how the sales representatives think, behave and make decisions.

What unique qualities or skills do you bring to the table?

Marcela: I’m always trying to understand the humanity behind the data. My approach is to be very emphatic with the user to discover the motivations, needs and mindsets underneath any behavior. Also, I like to think in the big picture and how digital marketing pairs with the others teams to fulfil the company objectives and deliver the perfect product and service for the customers.

Have you ever worked for a startup? Are you excited about it?

Marcela: I am so excited to work in a startup in Oslo. It’s like a dream come true. In the spring I had the opportunity to work in a startup in Stavanger, and this was a great experience because I had the challenge to create the digital marketing strategy from scratch. I also worked as a consultant in digital marketing back in Colombia for many different companies, which gave me a good overview of many sectors and businesses.

A startup has a dynamic atmosphere that makes it a very interesting place to work–and to grow as a professional and as a person.

Describe your personality.

Marcela: I’m a very positive person. I’m always looking for the bright side or the silver lining of any situation; also, I’m always looking to learn and grow to become a better person.

What's your favorite quote?

Marcela: “A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it.” – Jean de La Fontaine
